Have a bummer or a glitch?
Try one of Kelso's Choices. If that doesn't work, try a different one. If that doesn't work, tell an adult you trust.

How to improve your self-esteem
1. Make a list of strengths and not-so-strengths. Realize that you have more strengths than not-so strengths.
2. Set small, realistic goals that you can achieve pretty easy. Don't try to conquer the whole world, just a small part of it.
3. Tell yourself positive things every morning. "I'm going to have a good day," "I'm a good person," "People like me"
4. Take care of yourself. Eat healthy, exercise, practice good posture, keep clean, and dress nicely.
5. Make a "power pose" when ever you are approaching a difficult task and say "I can do it!" (for example, stand like Superman or Wonder Woman)

S.ituation (What is going on?)
O.ptions (What are three things you can do?)
D.isadvantages (What is the bad part, the cons, of each option?)
A.dvantages (What is the good part, the pros, of each option?)
S.olution (Weighing the pros and cons, what solution is best?)

Feel like the world is out to get you? Be sure to check your "B's"!
A. Antecedent. What happened first?
B. Belief (the only thing you can change). What do you believe just happened? Does your friend really not like you, or are they having a bad day?
C. Consequence. How do you feel as a result of your belief?
Worried about that big test?
Try one of these techniques:
PMR-Progressive Muscle Relaxation:
Start by listening to your breathing. Notice your lungs filling up with air and then releasing the air. Next, start by tightening your toes and feet muscles, then releasing them. Next, tighthened your leg muscles, and then release then. All this time, remember to focus on your breathing. Move through the rest of your body, tightening the muscle, then releasing it all the way to your hands and head.
Think positive thoughts. Think about that great thing that you love to do or something that makes you happy. Maybe you think about your puppy that loves to slobber on things or your grandma who is always so nice to you. You could also think about what you are planning to do after school that will be fun.
Ask yourself "Is this the worst? Would I rather....?" Think about the worst thing on the planet. For me, it's shrimp. I HATE SHRIMP. I ask myself often "Would I rather eat shrimp or take this test?" For me, I would rather take the test. This helps me realize that the test is not that bad, it's not as bad as shrimp.
